Former Army personnel accused of murdering three in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli district killed in encounter

“A former Army officer, accused of murdering three people in Chandauli district, Uttar Pradesh, was killed in an encounter,” a police officer said on Tuesday (May 12, 2026), adding that two personnel, including a sub-inspector, were also injured. “In the morning, Singh killed a man named Mangru, a resident of Zamania in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh, on the PDD-Tarighat Passenger train,” the superintendent of police said.
